A mysterious inheritance draws orphaned teacher Darcy O’Sullivan to the eerie coastal town of Fairydale, where she becomes entangled in a deadly love triangle while facing an ancient evil that could destroy them all in this haunting and seductive blend of gothic horror and historical fantasy.

“I might be evil personified, but you’re the only one I’ll ever be good to.”

August 1955: When Miss Darcy O’Sullivan, an orphaned English teacher from Boston, receives a letter finding out that her biological father passed away, she is surprised to find herself included in his will. There is only one condition. She must travel to Fairydale to attend his funeral.

With the promise of a sizeable inheritance, Darcy decides to journey to the small coastal town that holds the secrets of her birth. But the moment she steps foot into Fairydale, things start to go amiss. There are odd rumors, odd deaths, and even odd men—especially brooding Caleb Hale—part of the infamous Hale family.

During the day, she falls deeper and deeper under Caleb’s spell as he forces her to step out of her comfort zone and embrace her inner sensuality. But at night, it’s another man who haunts her dreams—Amon d’Artan, a nobleman who lived two centuries ago. Amon is sweet and suave where Caleb is intense and dangerous. Soon, she finds herself embroiled in a web of lies, deceit, and inexplicable events that make her question her sanity. And when an ancient evil threatens the town and everything Darcy holds dear, she must make the ultimate choice. But will she survive it?

unfortunately I just could not get into this story as much I was hoping for. the writing felt like there was so much meandering that did not relate to the plot or it just took so long to come back around that it lost the momentum. voice actors were great, but not something I'm going to re-read or recommend

way too much rambling

oh my goodness!!! 🤯it's just as fabolous as it was when I first read the book. now I'm crying because I don't have such an Amon as a mate😭😭😭... but honestly a big applause for the voice actors and Veronica for making such an amazing piece. 🩷

✨ it's just magical ✨

It’s a lot of book… and it was mostly predictable. It was ok, and I like that there were 3 stories in one, but it just got boring. The ending was good tho.

It’s ok.

This was one of my favorite audiobooks I’ve ever experienced! I’m speechless!! They did such a good job!

Hands Down 10/10

I got this title because of the male narrator, he has an amazing voice. I do wish narrators would speak a bit more naturally instead of so dramatically because my autistic brain reads that as sarcasm about the content lol but that's just s personal foible. I enjoyed the story, bit of mystery in there, spice was pretty good especially the last scene, but it was definitely a story I've heard before. not bad, but not great. I like that it was long and it did give me a good escape which was the point so Brava.

rather predictable
