Franklin D. Roosevelt, commonly known as FDR, served as the 32nd president of the United States. He was a compelling orator who inspired millions with his "fireside" radio speeches during the Great Depression of the 1930s and his wartime addresses to the nation in the 1940s.

Turning Point Inaugural Address

Narration: Scratchy recording not always clear but that is to he expected because of the state of technology existing at the time. I was surprised, however, that Roosevelt's cadence was not as enthralling as I had imagined. I suppose this is a case of myth superseding historical fact.

Content: An important address because it signals abrupt changes in how the Depression was "decompressed." A bold speech for bold, decisive, change in policy and action. Many important take away phrases and ideas.
