Five-Part Invention

With prose that is precise and emotionally affecting, Andrea J. Buchanan vividly renders how Lise's separation from her one source of expression and fulfillment cascades into her relationship with her daughter, leaving a legacy of trauma that echoes through the generations to come. Minor flaw in an otherwise beautiful book

I found the narrator for Anna to be painfully laborious (but her chapter is only maybe a tenth of the book). The story itself and all of the rest of the narration is beautiful. Great read!
