Charli Owens’ murder house renovation is meant to save her from financial ruin—if it doesn’t kill her first. More than corpses pile up, forcing Charli and neighboring contractor, Eli Lange a.k.a. "Hunky Daddy," together as they unravel a history of death, corruption, and deceit leading to criminal activity of the 1960s Chicago Syndicate.

Author Lynda Rees grew up in the area when Newport, KY prospered from unlawful mobster activity. Her fascination with how history creates the future and what happened to the next generations, led to do extensive research into syndicate activity as Lynda crafted this scenario of how actual historical events might have played out in today’s world. This story is a fabrication of Lynda’s imagination, though facts, events, and some details are woven into the story.
