Don and Samantha’s community has survived the long harsh Michigan winter and made it to the April showers bring May flowers stage. They’re ready to get their gardens in and build their food stores up, so the next winter won’t be so hard on them.

Charles is a fountain of information and know-how.

They’ve made solid trading partners of Keith’s group at the campground.

Don is trying his best to get a handle on living with the things he’s had to do to get them where they are and some of the choices he’s made for the group.

One of those decisions is coming back to bite him square in the butt, though, before there can be peace, and this one costs him dearly. Follow along. You’ll be glad you did!

as I said positively addictive first, at first I did not like the narrator and now he is grown on me. author is excellent authors I should say

main character too weak mentally to have survived such an environment. Character development poor and I could not achieve any positive feelings.
