Twelve-year-old Joe Warden isn’t happy. Sure, he’s rich, but his parents don’t care about him. His grandmother should make everything better, except that Joe’s granny is a nightmare. Brilliantly funny.

For everyone whose Grandma came loaded with hugs and cookies, but also wet kisses and smelled funny. Who played the piano and games, but could be very cross. Who made you smile, but made your Mom cry. Now the explanation arrives- and it’s so much more satisfying than you could imagine.

Tight suspenseful story

Horowitz at his best. Excellent performance. Intriguing premise although a stretch to believe I found myself thinking this could be true.

Believable absurdity

Wit and humor very interesting. Never ending granny keeps coming back. I wasn’t sure at first but then I couldn’t turn it off I had to finish it in one sitting
