He encounters some extraordinary characters along the way, one Miss Havisham, who is locked up with her unhappy past and living with her ward, the arrogant and beautiful Estella.
This is probably Dickens’ best work, and it paints a picture of the English countryside with the complex world of a sprawling cosmopolitan London. How will Pip survive in this complex world of deceit, jealously and conceit? Will his set of values hold up or wilt against what the world has to offer?
