Gwendolyn Corbett never expected her father to contact a matchmaker to find her a potential husband. She was even more stunned to learn that his mother came from the Crow reservation. With the doctor warning that stress could hasten her father’s decline from a weak heart, Gwendolyn faces an impossible decision: marry a stranger or defy her father’s wishes and risk losing him soon.
River Donahue longs for a home of his own and a family to share it with. Since his grandmother’s passing, he’s left with a bitter, uncaring grandfather, and a heritage where no one will sell him property. When the matchmaker his grandmother wanted him to contact sends him to a dying rancher, the man makes an unusual proposition. If River marries his daughter, he will inherit the ranch. Are River’s dreams finally coming true, or are his troubles just beginning?

I enjoyed the narration, and at one point actually thought this might have been a team effort with a male and a female narrator!
There aren't enough books with the realities of mixed marriages!

This Historical Romance was about a half white and half Crow Indian and a white woman. I think the author did a wonderful job describing her characters and showing us River Donahue’s loving heart. He was my very favorite character.
This story touched my heart because I know this story probably happened over and over again throughout the years. I know sometimes even in 2026 it can happen as there are many mixed marriages. I think this book could show others that we are all people and there are wonderful people in every race. The color of skin doesn’t prove who has a good heart. My uncle married a full blooded Indian in the early 50s and they had eight children, they and their mama were very excepted in our family.
Well what can I say except I loved this audiobook and I highly recommend it.
I received a complimentary copy of this book by the author but was not required to write a positive review. All opinions are my own.
Loved This Story!
