Are you worried that, despite your best efforts, you're messing up your kids? Help! I'm Ruining My Kids is your invitation to trade defeat and fear for hope and joy as you follow the biblical road map to becoming the mom you're meant to be.

We all desperately want to be good mothers who produce good humans, but our flaws and habits get in the way. We're reactive when we want to be intentional. We check out when we need to be engaged. And at the end of a long day, our minds are often flooded with thoughts of self-condemnation.

Author and mother Abbey Wedgeworth has been there too. But she has an important message to share with fellow moms: Nothing is beyond redemption--not you, not your experience of motherhood, and not your kids' experience of your imperfections.

In Help! I'm Ruining My Kids, Abbey invites you to journey with her toward a place where God's grace frees you from a guilty conscience, his compassion ministers to your past and present hardships, and his Spirit transforms you to look more like Jesus. With refreshing transparency, practical wisdom, and biblical encouragement, Abbey helps you to:

  • Identify and accept your personal limits
  • Develop realistic expectations for motherhood
  • Discover how to fight against mom guilt and the shame that comes with it
  • Create a comprehensive action plan for change
  • Learn to parent well as a work in progress

The good news is we can change--with a few practical tools and a whole lot of God's grace.

Abbey does such an incredible job of convicting and inspiring in what feels like the same breath. She constantly points mothers back to God and encourages them to both faithfulness and dependency on our Heavenly Father. I would recommend all day, every day, and twice on Sunday!

One of the most helpful, gospel centered parenting books I have ever read. It made me shed tears of encouragement and hope for motherhood. ♥️

Not only did this book encourage me while being in the trenches of motherhood, but it also helped me see my own mother in a new light. We are all out here winging it, and the relatable stories of “blowing it” in motherhood made me think about how I can learn and grow from my own failures, but also give grace for situations in my own childhood.

Abbey has a very approachable writing style and the audiobook was a great listen.

In shocking news (sarcasm), no one is perfect but our Heavenly Father. We can rely on him for grace and guidance as we praise him with gratitude for entrusting us with raising our little ones.

A Must Read for Every Mom

If you’re looking for a Biblical and scientifically sound investigation of the design for motherhood and the mother-child relationship and how the hope Christians have because of Jesus applies to moms, you have found it, my friend!

“Help! I’m ruining my kids” leads you to reflect on who you are as a person, digs into how God rescues and redeems you in the season of motherhood, and explores how you can move forward by the grace of God in the transformation He’s bringing about both in you and in your kids.

This book is getting into my hands at JUST the right time: when my responses to my toddlers are leaving me shocked yet again by the reality of my own sinfulness. Abbey manages to treat the pain of that delicately while hammering home the truth of who God is and how He works to redeem and restore me as a mom. She also manages to make me laugh in the process; listening to the book through her voice is yet another treat from this title.

Get ready to take notes!

There’s hope of us after all!
