Scriptoria of the Pale, Book 1

The worst blizzard of the decade brought something dark within and caught the citizens of Hillbrand by surprise.

Harry ignored the warnings when he went for a milk delivery the morning the storm began. By the time he realized the storm was only the beginning, it was already too late to escape. An abandoned child with a price on her head turned Hillbrand into a witch-hunt. No witnesses could survive. Maximilian was an old demon in charge of the cleaning crew tasked with dealing with the Hillbrand anomaly and the witnesses. What he thought would be an easy purge turned into a death spiral they were not ready to deal with.

Fear and the desire to live fueled a hand full of humans to face the nightmares that came with the storm. Pride and hatred fueled the cleaning crew to continue eliminating witnesses, no matter the cost.

A great start!

At first, the story seemed a little slow, with little details on some elements of the narrative. But boy did it picked up!! The characters started to shine once you familiarize yourself with them and the horror mixed with action kept you glued listening till the end. It’s survival mode!
The audio version is not perfect either, but the actors managed to create effects that are similar to the big companies out there. Sometimes there was not much emotion if you consider the scene they were in, but I see a lot of potential in that team. The voices were really distinctive for all the characters and I hope that they stay for the next book of the author.

Overall it was a great start for this team and definitely will wait for the continuation of this story!
