After ten years away, Marcie finally ventures back to where she grew up. She isn’t in town for twenty-four hours when she crosses paths with Hook and Striker, the two boys who kept her safe and happy as a young girl. Only they aren’t boys anymore. They are fully grown, muscular, alpha men. Members of the No Prisoners Motorcycle Club. All through her teenage years, Marcie’s heart belonged to Hook. Not that he ever seemed to notice. And it appears that as an adult, not much has changed with regard to her feelings toward the sexy biker. But a bossy, alpha man is not what independent Marcie is looking for. The moment Hook lays eyes on Marcie, it’s as though the last ten years apart never existed. Back when she was off limits, he wanted her, and it doesn’t take long before he realizes he still wants her. Marcie’s changed, though. She’s no longer a frightened teenager in need of a haven. Now she’s a beautiful, confident woman, and a bit too independent. Will Hook be able to convince Marcie a life with him wouldn’t stifle her freedom? Their relationship is tested when Marcie clings to her hard-won life and when an aspect of that life threatens not only their future together but their safety as well.

Oh how I wish that this had been a full length book! Hook is one seriously sexy but sweet man. I loved getting to know a little more about him and Marci and their beginning.

Get to know a little more about Hook and Marci.

I am totally hooked on this series! Loved Hook and Marci's story! I cannot wait to listen to the next one. I have to say that this series has made my commute to work so much easier! Love this book!!!

Marcus is a gal whom has overcome her past, or at least she thinks she has. She returns home after 10 years to bury her mama, and runs into two of her favorite people from her past. Now they belong to the local MC club. Striker and Hook have always looked out for Marcie, and now is no different, except now Marcie is stubborn in thinking their help makes her look vulnerable and weak. Marcie struggles with this feeling throughout this short book, and you will laugh and blush as well. This book does have a nice HEA. Look forward to reading about the rest of the No Prisioners Club.

I’ll be honest.. I hated the performances. They couple was supposed to be from the mid west, but the lead female was given a sticky (unrealistically so) southern bell voice (why?) and the lead male was given a heavy Australian accent despite being raised there as well (the book said his parents came over, didn’t say he was born in Australia).. it just didn’t jive at all and only served to distract.
Outside of that, my issue with the story had more to do with the female lead. Basically, she’s a b*tch. She really does engender any kind of sympathy. Her talk of independence just drives you crazy because it’s more than that. She’s just being rude and mean. Seriously, no man would have stuck around for what she puts out on the b*tch meter.
I feel like the author could have toned down some things regarding the female lead but outside of that, the book was ok I guess. I would prefer to have read it so I wasn’t so distracted by the crazy narration.
It’s rare for me to give such harsh criticism on these so please do take my warnings to heart if you’re looking to purchase this one. I’m just thankful it was free for me, otherwise, I’d have been pissed.

Not a fan of the performances..
