New York Times bestselling author Lorraine Heath’s next novel in The Chessmen: Masters of Seduction series where the price is always high…

American Leonora Garrison has come to England in desperate search of investors to keep her family business afloat but instead finds surprising pleasure when she visits an exclusive ladies’ club and dares to kiss a stranger, who leaves her yearning for more.

With a libertine for a father, Viscount Wyeth, more commonly known as Rook, vowed to live his life above reproach, with nary a hint of disgrace. Until one night, he takes a mysterious beauty into his arms, a lady who tempts him to cast his sterling reputation aside in favor of more wicked pursuits.

When fate reunites the couple, they are torn between desire and duty. Leonora may want the viscount, but she needs a stakeholder not a lover. When caught in a compromising situation that places everything they hold dear at risk, they must determine how best to win. However, in this scandalous game, nothing except love takes all.

This is by far one of my favorite Lorraine Heath books. Both of the main characters are believable and likeable--multi-dimensional and flawed. Nora's brother and mother were also well-written; one redeemable, the other not. I loved Nora's passion for engineering and building and Rook's desire to avoid becoming his awful father. It was a great ending to Chessmen series, but can also be enjoyed as a standalone book. It does have some very racy sex scenes, but they don't feel gratuitous, as has been the case with some other authors that I have read. I highly recommend this as a great read.

Oh Johnny! At the time beginning of the book, it was a little slow for me. However, after Johnny and Leonora reunited after their first kiss, they couldn’t stay away from each other. Their chemistry was palpable, but the longing! Oh my gosh! The longing they had for each other was everything. Also, his dad and her more are shitty people. I was hovering between a 4 and 4.5 stars, but the ending pushed it over to 5 stars for me. In Want of a Viscount is a must read for anyone who loves longing, strong heroines, and genuinely good heroes — both was a slight bit of naughtiness!

The Longing!!

I keep thinking after I'm finished reading one of these books oh this one was the best and I am always found wrong because the next one's the best. I have been reading Lorraine Heath for a very long time and I reread everything she's written often. each time I read these stories I am swept away to a world where men are men and they know how to love a woman. it is a wonderful way to dream.

the way he loves her

Interesting storyline. It was bit slow in story and reading but i listened at 1.2 and it was better. I loved Rook and the interweaving of the Truelove family with the Chessmen. Nora was a little annoying with the ‘he doesn’t love me’ bit and drew the story out longer than it had to be. The ending was unexpected and satisfying. Overall, the book was good, but I skipped through some of the monotonous parts

Slow start, good ending
