In and Down

The annual visit to the carnival brings excitement and fear to two brothers being raised by their father. Their mother's absence and their father's neglectful abuse have created distorted perceptions in their sons' minds - of the world, of women, and of themselves. In the world of one child, the carnival becomes a powerful backdrop for his internal struggle to find maternal comfort, a reprieve from guilt and a sense of self before his tether to reality is lost forever.
