Fast Paced Suspenseful Mystery

Jinx isnt the typical Jessica Huntley thriller, this is more of a suspenseful mystery where a murder happens and we're on the ride to figure out who did it, but it's not as "thriller" intense as some of her other books but absolutely still an enjoyable read. I really enjoyed the story which follows Aimee, an ex British soldier war hero, who was injured in the line of duty after rescuing Jones, her fellow soldier. Years later Aimee while struggling with PTSD, she's thrust back into Jones' life when he's the prime suspect in her ex fiancee's murder.

The book is written in two POVs, present day and flashback to Aimee's military days. Huntley does a wonderful job of providing the reader with the intense moments of Aimee's military life, her soldier mentality and her struggles with her return to civilian life with her trauma and PTSD, all while giving us an investigative look into the murder as well.

I also listened to this book on audio as well and the narrator did a wonderful job in bring Aimee to life! Thank you to Jessica Huntley and Booksprout for providing me with a free ALC of this book and am voluntarily leaving a review.

Thank you to booksprout for a copy of this audiobook. Jessica never lets me down. This book was full of tragedy, drama and thrills. It kept me going until the very end. I loved it.

Loved this book, amazing book to listen to. Very enjoyable and easy to understand. The narrator does a really good job with this book. Overall excellent book to listen to.

a great murder mystery !

JINX is a fast-paced gripping thriller, with a dual timelime, dual pov (both first person and third-person).
Apart from a great murder mystery, jinx also talks about PTSD and how veterans cope with their trauma.
Some avid thriller readers might not enjoy the romance part of the book, but on the contrary I think it was necessary for aimee's character-development. It shows that she is working on herself, trying to let go of all her barriers, fears etc. (I'm also a sucker for romance so 🤷‍♀️).

loved it

While this is not like the other Jessica Huntley books I've read, I found the story just as gripping. What started out as a slow story following a veteran hero in a sleepy town turns into something twisted. I enjoyed the switching timelines and characters, although it got confusing at times listening to it. Overall, I really enjoyed this story, and I found myself rooting for the main characters.
