AMAZING

This book is so amazingly written, I was left breathless at the end of the book. The last half was SO INTESE I almost couldnt take it. very well done!!

Satisfying Conclusion

While I really enjoy this series, the last book isn't my favorite. I do enjoy the closure we get as an audience but I feel it could have had more.

Amazing series!

Absolutely love this series! What I liked most about these books that the whole story feels well plotted out, the pacing is perfect, and the actions and reactions of the characters, the things they say and do are believable and realistic within the scope of their character. At no point did I feel like anyone was suddenly out of character. Also the characters are intelligent! The things they do are done because it makes sense and not because the author is trying to push towards a plot goal. Everything feels organic, natural, even when absolutely crazy events happen. You go into something thinking "oh, that's too coincidental!" only to find out that MC laid these plans out long ago and you remember them doing so but don't realize that that's what they were doing. So many times the author wrote characters into corners only to cleverly pull them out again in such creative and smart ways. I don't think I've ever read a book with this many plot twists. There were times when I genuinely did not think the MC would survive unscathed, and then they did, and it made sense how they did it. It takes a brilliant author to be able to weave such a clever plot.

Speaking of the MCs, their relationship is the perfect slow burn of enemies to lovers. It is absolutely believable how it progressed within the confines of their world. The sex scenes are few and far in between and they are tasteful. This book is not full of porn. Don't get me wrong, there are times when that's what I want to read, but every now and then I want a book that dedicates a significant amount of effort towards the plot, which I feel only enhances when the MCs do come together physically.

My only gripe is the author's voice getting a bit chipper in situations that I feel could have used a bit more gravitas. I feel some of the emotionally charged scenes, could have come out better if the author didn't sound so upbeat and excited. Overall, however, the narrator did a great job.

I would definitely recommend this series, especially to those who enjoy intelligent characters, strategy and tactics, and a slow burn of enemies to lovers. Highly recommend!
