The sexual references got to be a bit much over time, but overall a fun read.

35 hours of humor wrapped in fun storylines

As one of the first urban fantasy stories touted as comedic, I knew I had to try this series out. It's narrated by the author, who does a really good job. Like, I would have never known that he wasn't a professional narrator, he is that good. There is some very sophomoric humor which I actually enjoyed. I wanted something fun and not too deep and this fit the bill

If you like urban fantasy, and all types of humor

This is the series for you!
This is the first 7 books of the series, plus 3 short stories.
I love these characters, and the multiple adventures they go on. There is humor( some dirty, some not), adventure, romance, magic, mayhem and mischief all rolled into this set of stand alone stories with an overarching storyline. I love the world building, and the different characters; all voiced by the author. Mr. Logsdon does a great job of giving the characters their own voices, and telling the story with an energy that lets the listener know he enjoys the story. I look forward to hearing the rest of this series when it comes to audio, as well as hearing the other PPD stories when they come to audio. Do yourself a favor and pick up this fun series

Very interesting series

The story line seems to be well thought out. The authors did a good job of developing the story line as well as the characters in the story. It is very worth listening to the whole series.

Humor and action

These are the focuses of the books. There is some degree of character development, but it seems to be focused on the side characters. There’s certainly some world-building, with the settings for future stories introduced (and thus presumably characters we’ll see in the future).

There was enough happening to pull me through the books, making me want to know what was next for the characters. I’m actually somewhat disappointed that the series does shift to a new locale and set of characters, as I’d like to actually get to know more of the cast of these books more. I think there’s only one of the future sets of stories currently available via Audible, although the creative team seems to have a couple of other worlds to explore (with no obvious ties to the PPD series).

As far as humor, don’t expect Terry Pratchett or Douglas Adams levels of humor. Maybe more at the level of NCIS.

I have a minor quibble regarding the final bonus story. If it doesn’t have a mistake (a reference to an item’s by a name coined in book 1), then it has to take place between books 1 and 3. It could, of course - but if not for that one item, it could just as easily taken place prior to book 1; the issue Ian’s friends are trying to help with existed for several years prior to the events depicted there.
