Even the appendant bodies of Freemasonry have beautiful, practical lessons contained within the Holy Scriptures. The Rite of Adoption consists of the following degrees:
1. The Eastern Star, the first or initiatory degree.
2. The Queen of the South, the second degree.
3. The Amaranth, the third degree.

The rituals of these degrees have been carefully constructed, as has the Matron’s Administrative Degree, a subordinate degree no longer used by the Order of Amaranth. Their inculcation of lofty and noble principles appeals to human nature's best instincts.
