Charming story about a lonely father, a disabled, rodeo queen, and a little girl who wants to be a barrel rider I enjoyed every minute! Good character, development, interesting plot, hurrah for the rodeo queens!

Not great

I was glad I paid attention to the closing credits and learned that the original print date was 1995. Because of that I gave this an extra star. It was over the top cheesy in my opinion and I wasn’t happy with the portrayal of the heroine or the bullying (aka Alpha in romance speak) of the hero. This read more historical romance than modern. I did think the narration was good and he even did a good job with the female characters. If you like old fashioned romance novels, you’ll enjoy this book.
