Maaz Zyad, number ninety-seven of the Connecticut Kings, wasn't a big name in his first three seasons in the League. Thanks to his temperamental girlfriend posting and tweeting her every grievance about the League and Kings franchise, Zyad's become one of the most talked about players in the media. Sundryia Matthews is a real estate investor and entrepreneur. She's been Maaz's mother's protégé for nearly a decade. And she's been his fixation since he was sixteen years old. Sundryia was off limits to Maaz, though she'd been around since his mother bailed her out of jail years ago. Oh. And she's older than Maaz. Oh. And it must also be mentioned Sundryia dated Maaz's older brother. Forbidden love plagues this King. Well, it does, at least, until Maaz whisks Sundryia off to his family's vacation home in Macen Beach to kick off the summer. Can he convince her it's time to push beyond the lies created by their tawdry affair and pursue an honest romance he's always wanted with her?

This Felt Different

I self read this story and remembered loving it. The Audible was a tough listen. Midnight Michael gets a little tongue tied at times or it may be his southern accent, I don’t know but it irks me at times. Also, I can’t hear him. lol! Ja’air sounds young but like a grandma at the same time. It’s hard to explain. But I pushed through.

I had to force myself to finish the book

The narrators made this book seem unnecessary long and boring. Overall the book was great.

Of course it was good!

Story, characters, connections all good. Length was great and gave time to let the story develop and characters grow on the reader. I loved getting to know Maaz and Sunny. Unfortunately I did not like the narrators for this story. Male’s voice was to muffled and missed words. Female narrator too flat and monotone so made a few chapters feel super long and rambling. Overall another good one from Love ❤️

My new fave CK couple.

I thought I loved Parker and Rut! Maaz and Sunny have taken that number one spot. I loved everything about this book. And I absolutely loved the way Ahmad fathered and knew Maaz.
