Step into the warm holiday glow of Pemberley Estate and witness an unexpected romance unfold in Miss Bennet: Christmas at Pemberley. At last, bookish middle sister, Mary Bennet—forever eclipsed by her sisters’ romantic escapades—takes center stage.

Mary’s world brightens with possibility when a surprising gentleman arrives for Christmas at the Darcy residence. Their shared intellectual passions and endearing social awkwardness create immediate sparks. Capturing the essence of Jane Austen's beloved masterpiece while infusing it with crackling contemporary wit and humor, this delightful continuation breathes new life into the cherished characters and world of Pride and Prejudice.

Editorial Review

Oh, Mary!
It is a truth universally acknowledged that Mary Bennet is among Jane Austen’s most dour characters—but all she needed was a proper storyline. She gets one in this audio adaptation of a hit regional play by Lauren Gunderson ( The Half-Life of Marie Curie) and theater director Margot Melcon. We meet the pianoforte-pounding book-nerd Mary as she arrives at Pemberley to spend the holidays with Lizzie and Mr. Darcy. Glum about her dull life at Longbourn, Mary perks up after meeting the map-mad Mr. de Bourgh. Soon, a bevy of Bennet sisters, along with brothers-in-law Darcy and Bingley, conspire to give Mary her happier ending. It’s a plummy confection arriving just in time to celebrate the 250th anniversary of Austen’s birth on December 16.—Maggie M., Audible Editor

All the voices for the characters were perfectly matched. An appropriate and lovely well played ending for all the Bennett sisters.

Great story for poor little Mary

As Pride and Prejudice is one of my favorites, this was totally enjoyable. Highly recommend!!

Short, Cute, and Festive

This, like others lacks stage directions, which is important, it's harder to follow when you don't know which actor is entering/exiting. For these productions, they need to think how a listener can follow the story better- they need to know about props moving and things like that.
This story matters less, there are not a lot of production things that are missing- and I saw it live, so it's clear, but a lot of this story works with just the dialogue, which is really Realistic and fantastic - as all of her works are. This series is my current favorite of the 6 plays of hers I know. It is very faithful to the Jane Austen characters, the story is wholly original, But references the classic in the way that people naturally talk over memorable moments of the past. This story is set when Christmas Trees are new- which is a fun twist. Arthur is a fun, new, perfectly flawed character who fits well in the story of well beloved characters. Anne we learn is just like her mom

Fortunate enough to see this live
