I loved this book...every second. It takes you on a bit of a roller coaster emotionally. It is worth the "ride". The characters are so endearing. Julia Whelan I truly hope you will write more. You've always been one of my favorite narrators but now you have to keep going as a writer as well. Ah...to have a Jamie Davenport in my life. I heart him.

Well written, light but absolutely a good read.

Well written story infused with snippets of old, well loved poetry, crafted into a heartwarming and poignant story. A nice reminder, in our current crazy,modern day lives, of our fundamental humanness, sameness, connection to those around us as well as those that came before us. We are simply humans living in this world with much more in common than different.

I first heard JULIA Whelan powerfully read EDUCATED by Tara Westover. I was amazed to learn that JULIA wrote and recorded this novel which she wrote. The Afterward was enlightening, too. I plan to reference this book in my preaching...it is THAT good! Rev. Stephen York, Maine.

You won't end this novel without having it reached in and grabbed your heart. I thought it might lead me down a silly road but it was a very profound read.
