is he a soldier or a marine?

love the story, and the author, I've enjoyed most of his books but as a vet I wish he'd pick which service aj fought with at area 51 he was a marine and was 2 different mos in the army, don't care what he can do just be one, or I guess we can have multiple tours changing branches whatever

Good story

Some of the character reactions are a little overdramatic, (the military officers especally) but overall a good light story

a nice balance of story vs action

The series started with a bang and then kept at a good pace with and well-rounded story...
And depending what you prescribed to it is fairly realistic and that sci-fi-ish conspiracy level
