He starts by applauding the trend of artists and men of different educational backgrounds to show an ever growing interest in the electrical and physical sciences and truth available in the studies of the day. Electricity, in his well-learned opinion, is an all-encompassing study that teaches us not only about light and energy, but about all natural phenomena that connect us in our natural existence and observations.
