Born blind in the 17th century, a young boy named William endures tremendous physical and mental challenges. In order to escape a broken home and his tragic life, he sails half way around the world from London to the West Indies. Upon arriving in Barbados, William finds love followed by heartbreak. In an act of defiance and in order to give his children a better life, William vows to become the greatest pirate the world has ever seen. However, in order to do so, he will need to recover the Jewel of the Spanish Main. But can he find the treasure and keep it out of the wicked hands of those who seek it for their own nefarious plots?

Exhilarating, heartbreaking, adventurous, murderous, and exilerating.

This was such a good read. I was up out of my seat, fighting alongside One-Eyed Willy and in the pit of despair, helping him to escape. I loved reading this book so much that I couldn't stop thinking about the characters and the plot twist. I can't say enough, so I will simply say, "Go and read it!"
