Stop Guessing. Start Decoding. Your Roadmap from Chronic Pain to Lasting Relief. If you are living with pain, you don't just want a diagnosis—you want a plan. You’ve likely been caught in the "medical merry-go-round," bouncing between specialists, confusing imaging reports, and contradictory advice. You’ve been told to "just live with it," or offered surgery as the only option. It’s time to decode the signals your body is sending. In Pain Decoded, double board-certified interventional pain specialist Dr. Sassan Hassassian breaks down the complex science of pain into a clear, actionable guide for the modern listener. Whether you are dealing with a recent injury or a decade of chronic distress, this audiobook provides the "missing manual" for understanding how pain works and how to reclaim your life.

Inside, you will discover: The Pain Decoder: Why your MRI might show a "bulging disc" but not be the actual cause of your pain. The Conservative Toolkit: A deep dive into supplements, nutrition, and lifestyle modifications backed by clinical evidence. Interventional Clarity: From epidurals and nerve blocks to the latest in regenerative medicine—know exactly what happens "behind the curtain. "Surgery Without Fear: How to know when surgery is truly necessary, how to choose a surgeon, and how to optimize recovery. The Mind-Body Connection: Understanding neuroplasticity and how "sensitized" nerves can be retrained. From "Construction Carl" to "Sensitized Sarah," Dr. Hassassian uses relatable patient archetypes to show how these treatments look in the real world. This isn’t just a list of procedures; it’s a compassionate roadmap written by a "Top Doctor" who has spent decades helping thousands of patients navigate their way back to wellness. Don't just manage your pain. Decode it.

I highly recommend Pain Decoded — read it, gift it to your elderly parents to help with their pain, ask your children to read it so they understand their anatomy and pain-proof themselves, and keep it on your bookshelf to refer to it as needed.

I have been listening to books for over 30 years from Executive Briefing cassettes and Harvard Review CDs to Audible. I can say with no exaggeration that this is one of the best books I’ve listened to (plus I got a hard copy to refer to as needed). It is profoundly informative, well organized, explains complex concepts simply through analogies, and reads clearly and passionately throughout. Well done!

Read it if you have pain, or not!
