The discovery of the body of a German war hero in a desolate wooded section of Rock Creek Park in Washington DC and the ghoulish portrait of a face on the internet are the catalysts which trigger this thrilling tale. Journalist Mike McCabe is drawn into the investigation which uncovers incidents of the Second World War, long kept secret by the US authorities and their modern security agencies determined to suppress any embarrassing disclosures. It highlights the fears and moods surrounding the global conflict of that war and the frightening insecurities which have resurfaced in a similar climate today.
