Ramayana

The Ramayana (lit. "Path - ayana - of Rama"), along with the Mahabharata, is one of the greatest epic poems of Hinduism, as well as one of the most important sacred texts of this religious and philosophical tradition.
The poem, traditionally attributed to the singer (ādivaki) and its protagonist, Valmiki, narrates the adventures of Prince Rama, an avatar of Vishnu, unjustly exiled and deprived of his wife, whom he nevertheless regains after furious fighting, along with the denied throne.
