Written in 1949, Reflections of Gandhi is both a review of Mahatma Gandhis autobiography, The Story of My Experiments with Truth, and an examination of his legacy. Orwell explores the tension between Gandhis spiritual ideals and his political actions, asking—with a mixture of admiration and sceptcism—whether his commitment to non-violence was compatible with the messy realities of politics.
