Brought to Summerville after his brother’s sudden death. Don Moore quickly finds himself surrounded by the mystery of Summerville, Wisconsin, and the Palmer House. A resort started in the early 1800’s, offering romantic getaways with an old-world flair. With the intentions of only staying a week to finalize his brother’s estate. Don has to make the choice of closing his brother’s bookstore. Or starting a new life far from the hustle and bustle of Chicago. Quickly he is drawn into the old-world charm of Summerville. As well as the friendliness of the people. Especially Dotty West, café owner next door to Reed Moore Book’s, and Terry Mageau, a spunky fourteen-year-old with a penchant for reading, and the knack of being in the right place at the wrong time. Little does Don know that an evil is thriving under the town. Seeping into the people and the trees. Entwining everything as it tries to tilt the balance between good and evil.
