This is a great book. I read it years ago. Listening to it is so much more fun. It is like listening to a movie, and this is the movie we wish would come out now. Whether you like new Star Wars or old, you will love this!

The Nostalgia Strikes Back!

Marc Thompson and the production team does it again!

In 1996, Shadows of the Empire ruled the Star Wars Universe. I read this book while listening to the soundtrack, then played the video game on N64. My mom bought me the action figures and comic books.

When Shadows was announced to be getting the “Legends” treatment with an unabridged audiobook narrated by Marc Thompson as well, I preordered that very second. His incredible voice acting and narration coupled with first rate production, including official Star Wars music and sound effects, took my imagination right back to 1996.

Another hit from Star Wars!

What a great and exciting book, and perfectly read by Marc. The production is top notch and really helps set the story.

Wow!

If you have never seen any of the star wars films, you should start with this listen. This book has enough information in it regarding the films that lead up to it for you to get an idea of who all of the characters are. By listening to this audio version of the novel, you will also get an idea of what it is like to watch one of the films in the star wars series, because you will hear the same music, and sound from this recording in the films. As a fan, I found this book a bit lacking because it just gave me info that I knew already, but I love the narration so much, I could not stop listening.

Episode 5.5. Must Read!

This is an essential listen for any Star Wars fan. This novel, the N64 game and the original trilogy were my baptism into the Star Wars universe. Prince Xizor is the second best villain introduced in the Legends universe, second only to Grand Admiral Thrawn.
