We live in difficult days. Every headline seems to carry more evidence of division, injustice, suffering, and fear. Many of us feel the weight of it—politically, financially, socially, emotionally, and spiritually. In such a time, it’s easy to grow weary, to feel overwhelmed, or even to let the light of our faith grow dim.

And yet, as followers of Jesus, we are called to something higher. In Philippians 2:14-16, Paul exhorts believers to “do everything without complaining or arguing, so that you may be blameless and pure, children of God without fault in a crooked and perverse generation, in which you shine as lights in the world as you hold forth the word of life.” This is not merely a suggestion—it is our mission. In a darkened world, the light of Christ shines most clearly through lives of faithfulness, love, humility, and hope.

Shining as Lights was born out of that conviction. It is a collection of forty meditations to help you reflect on what it means to shine as a light in your generation—to live differently, serve sacrificially, persevere faithfully, and love courageously. Each meditation is rooted in Scripture, offering a reflection, questions to ponder, a suggested activity, and a prayer to guide you into deeper trust and obedience.

My prayer is that these meditations will encourage and equip you to live as a beacon of God’s grace wherever He has placed you—not by your own strength, but by the power of the One who is Himself the Light of the World.
