Ships of Steel is the first in a line of anthologies for the fan of Space Opera, Space Westerns and Science Fiction Adventure stories. Call it what you like, but these four novellas are filled with aliens, robots, spaceships, pirates, assassins all set on far planets or the depths of space. "Rolling Stone" by M. D. Jackson introduces the space agent, Steel, and his spaceship Darling. "The Hidden Heart" by G. W. Thomas features Sudana and Zaar, characters from his book Whispers and Ice and Sand. The crew of the Boudicca are after space pirate treasure. "Gideon's Burden" by T. Neil Thomas introduces JoJo Station, a gigantic sphere sitting next to Jupiter. Gideon Stormcrow is on the trail of a stolen child. "The Price of Redemption" is a prequel to Jack Mackenzie's The Mask of Eternity. Solis Delacey is no captain but a rank ensign, who is about to go on a long journey and stop a war.
