Breaking Free—and Breaking Rules

Consistent, engaging performances from Michelle Sparks and Troy Duran make this another solid entry in the series.

Carly’s evolution—from hiding her talents under family pressure to boldly owning her future—is fun to follow. Paired with an Incubus hero whose mischievous charm is balanced by genuine protectiveness, they form a memorable couple.

The plot moves smoothly, with well-timed moments of humor, tension, and heat. Standout scenes include his breakfast-in-an-apron surprise—utterly ridiculous and hilarious—and his ghost-story antics that send unsuspecting house-hunters running for the hills. A dash of Incubus lore and supernatural stakes adds depth without slowing the story down.

Overall, a lighthearted, steamy, and thoroughly entertaining listen—perfect for unwinding.

Prax & Penny

Hilarious story where a summon spell has huge side effects. The performance of Michelle Sparks as Penny is good, and Troy Duran’s performance of character Prax is absolutely hilarious!
I have very much enjoyed this fun and unique story. So far this is a great series and every next book is getting better and better. I am glad there are more “monsters” that need their story told!! I’m looking forward to the next book!!

It was really nice to see Prax get his happily ever after. This book seemed to be somewhat lower stakes than some of the others, perhaps because it felt very fast paced or that the danger was almost constant from the start. Either way, it felt like the audiobook was over in a flash
As always I love Michelle Price and Troy Duran as the narrators. They do an amazing job together. It might be nice to hear them narrate a book in duet in the future too.

The spice seemed somewhat less than in the other books as well, but I also think that had to do with the pacing. I thought there might be more since Prax is an incubus, but that didn't make me like the book any less.

Always fun banter and an entertaining story with Maggie Mayhem. This is definitely one of the feel good low stakes series that I keep returning to. ❤️
