Murder. Scandal. Politics. And one billionaire heiress so dangerous in so many ways.

An explosive Lucas Davenport thriller from #1 New York Times bestselling author John Sandford.

All hell has broken loose in the capital. An influential state senator has been caught with something very, very nasty on his office computer. The governor can’t believe it—the senator’s way too smart for that, even if he is from the other party. Something’s not right.

As Davenport investigates, the trail leads to a political fixer who has disappeared, then—troublingly—to the Minneapolis police department itself, and most unsettling of all, to a woman who could give Machiavelli lessons in manipulation. She has very definite ideas about the way the world should work—along with the money, ruthlessness, and cold-blooded will to make it happen.

Have read all 23 Prey books by John Sandford. Have a MAJOR CRUSH on Lucas Davenport, America's classic good boy/bad boy.

This Prey is a bit on the boring side - the characters and their interplay elicited some yawns. Usually I dive right into Sandford books and don't mind hitting my head on the bottom. That being said, Silken Prey deserves a four out of five.

Long live Lucas Davenport!

Four for the "Prey"

The prey series is getting better and better as I work my way through it. Always a 4 star or better it’s become 4-5

The character development and cop humor is super strong

I do miss T@ts though

Keep em coming

Killer

Sanford either has a sick imagination or access to the sick reality of actual murder cases to base his stories on. This was one of the sickest and I have to say one of the most exciting. Edge of your seat stuff.

Once again we're thrust into the world of Lucas Davenport and his band of crime fighters including his adopted daughter. You feel like you know these guys and that's what keeps Sanford's fans coming back for more. Good job Mr. Sandford. Looking forward to more stories about good decent people trying to stay sane in a sometimes insane world and stopping insane killers.

One of his best!

I'm also a huge fan of the combination of John Sandford and Richard Ferrone. Silken Prey is a tightly wound spine-tingler, and is both author and narrator at their best. While there are certain things about the political system the reader has to take on faith, the internal logic of the story is flawless.

Terrific Davenport

A nice change of pace adding just a little bit of politics as motivation to the protagonists. All added to the typical analytical Davenport.
