Five years ago, LuLu was in a car accident that left her with a traumatic brain injury and a gaping hole in her memory. In addition to solving the mystery of who is trying to kill her, she has to wrestle with her neurodivergent brain that tells her to avoid conflict and blinking lights—to say nothing of the flamingos.

Determined to find answers before she is silenced forever, LuLu and her reluctant attorney must navigate through clues and suspects, inching closer to confronting the shadows of her former self and apprehending the person who doesn’t want her to have this simple and peaceful life she’s worked so hard to build.

Unique, fresh, intriguing, clean

I have never read about a character like Lulu before, but I loved the storyline so much. I could hardly put it down. And it was so clean, which is always very appreciated.

Quirky and fun, the beginning drove me crazy…worth the read!

I almost didn’t get into this one from the beginning because the main character was so nutty, so ADHD-like it drove me crazy! I put the book down for a week but decided to finish it for my book club read. The revisit was worth it! I loved the introspection of the main character and the author. I thought the reader was very believable and did a wonderful job of creating the voices for her story. The story itself was fun and came together nicely. The Mexican accent needs work, but that is forgiven as I still enjoyed the read. I don’t like to retell a story for others or give away the endings, so I will just say to my listeners, “read, stay with it, you won’t regret that decision. This book is a fun enjoyable story. It is worthy of your time and efforts! I am still very much a fan of Josi Kilpack and her writing!

Fun, Unique, Clean Mystery

I really enjoyed this because the character is so different. She’s not like anyone I’ve read or watched before; she’s uniquely quirky. It was engaging from the start to finish. A friend recommended it, and then my mother listened and loved it too. It’s so nice to find adult, well written mysteries without swearing or sex. We all will be buying the next one.

What a great, engrossing story!

I loved getting to know Lulu! The mystery was interesting but (almost) secondary to the great character development! Thank you, Josi, for another great book and (I hope) an amazing start to a new series!!!
