Spacebound and Down Is A Fun Ride For All!

Jack Bodett and the No Stress Space Express have been favorites of mine ever since I discovered them in 2024. And now they are coming on Audible and are available to truckers to listen to while they drive. If you’re not familiar with the stories, it all starts with two truckers, Rusty and Mike, who are stuck in the middle of nowhere with an engine problem when they get snatched up by a tractor beam and find themselves hauled aboard a huge flying saucer spaceship full of aliens they never imagined existed. The two best friends soon discover that their mechanic and electrical skills, honed by years of keeping their rig running, translate to skills they can use to repair devices for various aliens who have no such skills. They soon make friends with aliens because of their skills and become familiar with their situation. They meet Piper Skyflare, a lieutenant in the Martian Sky Force, and her green skinned, pretty looks, plus a mean right hook, wins Rusty over.
Jack Bodett has written an entertaining series that shows your family is not necessarily those you grow up with; family can also be those you pick and who pick you, and they do not even have to come from Earth. And, as Rusty says, a sense of humor and a roll of duct tape can get you through darn near anything. That and coffee.
Neill Thorne and Rebecca Winder do a great job of presenting this audio version of Jack Bodett’s book. They enhance the written word with their voices and add flavor to the mix,
Adventures abound, and the group goes from one to another in each successive book mixing good, clean fun with humor and common sense. I would recommend these especially for younger readers, as they have adventure, science fiction, and dozens of aliens. What more could a kid want? And for you truckers out there, now you can listen to Rusty and the gang while driving. Just keep your hands on the wheel while laughing!

Just as good as book 1

This book was just as good as book 1. The story progresses with their new ship. My only complaint is the story felt that it ended to soon but maybe this will get continued in book 3. Southern boys in space, who would have thunk it? I am really loving the duet, I had no idea it could be so good. Now to wait for the next one.

The narrative has given voices to the characters in my head.

I absolutely loved the book and the series. My wife’s family are truckers and it is fun connecting them to each character. I enjoy how Rusty and Mike are able to adapt their down home earth abilities and problem solving to help them grow in this new environment. They do not seek power or recognition but are just kind and helpful. I see the same thing happening in our family. Please keep the adventures coming.

Relaxing read

These books are a perfect escape from the grind no over the top stories just good hearted fun and adventure, reminds me of Bob and Nikki of Bob's Saucer repair.

Too short

I like that the book starts right? Where the last book ended, but it's too short and then it just stops in the middle of a thought. amazing book. Overall, I would give it 5 stars. If it had a better stopping point, but I'm giving it 4.9 stars.
