"Surprised Into Freedom" is the story of a man and his wife being liberated from the captivity that plagued them for most of their lives. He knew he was enslaved by his lustful passions. She was unaware of the extent her own body shame affected all areas of her everyday life. From the unlikeliest of places came a catalyst that would spark the almost effortless and miraculous eradication of both from their bondage. They now enjoy the blessings of freedom and life as God intended it to be from the very beginning.

This way of living is not just biblically permissible, it's preferable.

Good content but it could have used a bit more editing. several points are too drawn out or repeated too often. I wished there had been a section that was devoted to analyzing all of the relevant Scripture passages systematically. despite these minor complaints, I was thoroughly benefitted by this book.

It's what comes out of your heart that matters.

Phil shares his and his wife's story, that resembles mine in so many ways. The church in a whole has gotten purity culture wrong and we, Generation X have all suffered. This book outlines Biblical proof that freedom from lust and porn is not only possible, but easier than the church has made it. As for the bait & switch tactic in the middle of the book. Count me converted. Thank you Phil and Mrs Phil. This book is needed.
