The Balancing

Darian Mason grew up in an orphanage in Denver, knowing from birth that she possessed a special power. She could see into the souls of others; see their fears; read their thoughts. Darian honed this special gift through the years as she grew to become an attorney. Darian had never lost a case, and she knew how to persuade a jury with merely a glance and the use of her special power.

Darian was about to take a case, going up against another attorney who had a track record that matched her own. The moment Darian saw her opposing attorney, Shannon O’Leary, she tried to read her thoughts. Darian was amazed that she had, for the first time, encountered a human who could block their thoughts from her.

An age-old power in Darian is about to be awakened, bringing forth a power that could end life on earth, if she so chooses. A battle has begun; the scales have tilted as The Balancing begins.
