Meh

This is YA and I basically almost fought through because apparently I've returned too many times in a certain time frame....not like I don't purchase 3 credits all the time but, whatever.

I never finished this story as in the fantasy world that has been created one of the most human, American, non fantasy objects and scene was painted right where it made 0 sense. That was it for me.

Love this series

Really worth reading/listening to. Enough so that I’ve bought the kindle and audio editions. And listened to multiple times. Original. Funny. Light. Long. Fantastic use of a credit.

Funny and whimsical!

So silly, I loved it. I laughed out loud several times throughout this book. It's a fun twist on a classic fantasy world. Great if you're in the mood for something simple and funny.

Once you get past the poop jokes...

This is a strange little book.

At points, this is laugh out loud hilarious.

At points the poop jokes made me just put it down and read something which didn't have the sense of humour of an eleven year old boy.

The characters are ridiculous and mostly you just shouldn't take anything seriously.

The world building is honestly better than I expected. It all hangs together better than it should.

There are some serious problems with pacing and a lot of characters with unmemorable names which are sometimes hard to keep track of.

But I thoroughly enjoyed the ridiculous adventure of this silly book. I don't think I'll read the sequel immediately, but I'll keep it in mind when I'm looking for new lighthearted adventure fantasy again :)
