Only my luck—trapped in a blizzard with an ice dragon I should hate, fated to be his mate and bound by a prophecy that could destroy us both.

I was never meant for storms and shadows. I’m a summer nymph, made of heat and stubborn light. So when my best friend drags me to a Denver ski resort for her bachelorette party, I’m already out of my element… long before the blizzard traps me with him.

Zane. The ice dragon who freezes me out at every turn, yet the mate bond drags me closer with every breath. No icy wall he builds can withstand the heat between us.

I thought I’d left him behind in the blizzard. But back home, my magic starts to falter, shadows stalk my every step, and danger finds me in the dark. When an intruder breaks in, Zane returns—swearing to protect me.

Then I find a necklace I don't recognize. A gem cursed by dragon hunters, Zane says… proof our bond has tangled us in a prophecy far darker than we imagined.

The story was ok, some parts felt disjointed, but overall the story itself is probably a solid 3 star. The performance is not good. With virtual narrators there is no feeling in the telling of the story, no inflections, nothing that you would get with a live person. So that takes away from the story. I am a big listener to audible versions and I don't know if there is a way for virtual voices to learn how to have emotion or not, but someone needs to invent that. Otherwise, my imagination in reading it in book form is way better. I liked Zane, but he did not feel a thousand years old. But again, is that because of the virtual voice or the writing of the story or both?

Just not a fan of the virtual narrator
