I just finished listening to the audio version of Crown with a Shadow and it completely pulled me in. The storytelling is powerful, emotional, and incredibly vivid. The narration brings every scene to life in a way that makes you feel like you’re right there experiencing the journey with the characters.

What really stood out to me was the depth of the story — it’s thoughtful, gripping, and leaves you reflecting long after you finish listening. The pacing, the atmosphere, and the way the story unfolds make it hard to pause once you start.

A beautiful story, elevated by strong narration, voice actor work, sound effects, music cues and its own unique sense of self.

The audiobook for The Crown with the Shadow is a refreshing and uplifting story for the young and young at heart alike. Narrated to great effect by its author, JB Ghuman Jr. takes his listener on a journey of self discovery, added by exceptional voice work from actors Paul Reubens and Geri Halliwell. Amanda Lepore is also a standout with her calming presence and instructional breath work. The experience can be enjoyed on its own or as a companion piece to the book, whose own graphic novel-like visuals are a standout themselves. I highly recommend this audiobook to anyone who has kids coming of age in this turbulent and often polarizing world. It’s clear now more than ever that we could use more loving and accepting voices like the ones heard here.

This interactive story is one of self acceptance, love and the importance of trusting that who you are is more than enough. I purchased the hardcover book for my 7 year old son and once I got the audible version we read along with it and absolutely loved it! This book is for everyone!
