In The Drugstore, stories of ordinary people's strife in the 1950s come to life—like the fire at Miss Pansy's dime store and the quest of 14-year-old Becky Bartlett, whose father runs the corner drugstore. Everyone in the neighborhood is caught in a whirlpool of crime when holdups and a murder overtake the mom-and-pop business on Park Avenue. Then the holdup man begins to stalk Becky Bartlett, but he had no idea about her possible strength of character...which could lead to his demise.

good story

The story was good. It was hard to get past the reader's performance: lots of stumbling over words, not reading ahead so sentences didn't flow and it sounded like it was recorded at home. I actually tried to return it but paid cash. I'm glad I listened through the whole story, but like I said, it could have used a professional reader... it would have been great.
