The author sure likes the word diddling

I give regency romance a lot of slack, so Tessa being a spoiled princess kind of FMC was more cute than cringe. I liked the grumpy-sunshine romance meets crime family mystery procedural story (again, putting my thumb on the scale for bodice rippers). But, the sex was … off, both in the quantity (half dozen or more scenes skewed the ideal story to sex ratio) and the quality (in addition to her penchant for odd sex terms like “diddling” it was way more, er, fluid-y than i expected). I actually forwarded thru some of the sex scenes. Still, it was a solid enough first book for me that I’ll move on in the series.

The Duke series 🔥🔥 my favorite of Grace Callaway books so far. Hope to find more like this! Worth the credit!

Best book thus far !

This book is by far my favorite. Not a dull moment. Must read ! I couldn’t put it down.

A bit disappointing...

Read Glory and the Master of Shadows before reading this one. I was underwhelmed. But based on reviews, I was prepared to be swept away. Not so much. Although better than Glory, I have read so much better. Just didn't care about the main characters.
Sex scenes were plentiful but really, if you don't care about the couple, what's the point.
I'll pass on anymore of Callaways books.

Another hit

I absolutely love anything by Ms. Callaway as she's yet to disappoint. this is another fabulous tale and can't wait to continue on to the next. performance by Ms. Hussein was so well done and brought each character to life. highly recommend all around.
