"Morality sees further than intellect” is a famous quotation from nineteenth century English historian, James Anthony Froude. But what is morally right and wrong? Today’s culture seems to have lost its moorings and is adrift in a sea of subjective morality. Robert Welch, the founder of The John Birch Society, was very fond of Froude’s quotation about morality and intellect. Back in 1970, compiled what he considered were the essential elements of the moral code of Western civilization — elements that freedom-loving Americans have embraced as part of their responsibility to ensure liberty for future generations.
