In Italy, 1478, a murderous attack in Florence Cathedral has seen Andrea de' Grigi's close friend Giuliano de' Medici killed. Giuliano's brother, Lorenzo de' Medici, "the Magnificent", survived the attack, but enemies remain both within Florence and in armies on her borders. Lorenzo must rally supporters to drive Florence's enemies away for good.
