A Beautiful Servant, a Dangerous Master

Osho responds here to a question relating to meditation, a space of "no-mind": "...meditation covers a very long pilgrimage. When I say 'meditation is witnessing', it is the beginning of meditation. And when I say 'meditation is no-mind', it is the completion of the pilgrimage. Witnessing is the beginning, and no-mind is the fulfillment. Witnessing is the method to reach the no-mind. Naturally you will feel witnessing is easier. It is close to you.

But witnessing is only like seeds, and then is the long waiting period."

Osho talks about the mind and differences between races and individuals.

Osho talks about the mind and how it's an excellent tool but a horrible master. He spoke about meditation and how people that learn to watch the mind can get to the point where they can observe their anger or lust but not be directly affected by it because they know they are not the mind. A practicioner of this calibur will observe the mind and say I am seeing anger on the screen of the mind all while not identifying with what the mind is feeling. This allows one to use the mind but never ever be used by the mind. How many times are people a tool of the mind? It claims it is hungry but you feel no actual hunger, it says you have anger because you got insulted but who says giving into it and following that path won't lead you somewhere you don't want to go? The other question brought up in this was what is the difference between races and Osho made it perfectly clear that every race is different and that every individual is different too That we are all unique and as far as the races an Eskimos idea of hell is a place of bitter cold and an Indian mans idea of hell is a place that is hot. This was a really good Osho talk especially the mind part.
