A Great Story with Interesting Characters

The Murder Shoe has such a carefully crafted plot with many surprising turns. The lead characters are well developed and unique individuals.

I didn't love it...

Somehow all the books that do not feature Nils prominently disappoint me. As did this one.

Good story, starts slow but worth it!

Slow start but it does pick up within a reasonable amount of time. I stuck with it because Matt Goldman is a great storyteller and I wasn’t disappointed. I’ve enjoyed every book of his and I have them all in my library. The narrator was good. I do recommend this book.

NILS NOT NILES

Why would a narrator change the name of arguably the main character in this series (not in this book)? His name is not Niles it's Nils. You should probably stick to the annunciation provided by the author. Matt Goldman has said Nils Shapiro in tons of interviews, never once NILES. I know Nils isn't a large character in this book, but it's still part of the Nils series.

Lack of attention to pronunciation

What the hell is up with the mispronunciation of the name “Nils”? The narrator keeps saying “Niles”! It’s so irritating! I’m guessing the author doesn’t want to or get to have a say in how things get recorded for the audiobooks. This isn’t the first book where that’s the case. It’s like nails on a chalkboard when the narrator mispronounces places in Minnesota for this of us who live here. Not sure if the publisher, the author or producer is the blame, but shame on them. Maybe all of them.
