Hannah More was British playwright, abolitionist, and philanthropist. This allegory is a witty portrayal of peoples’ daily concerns; the story calls on them to keep their mind on their heavenly destination and to prepare for it. “… one would have thought they would have been chiefly employed in packing up, and preparing, and getting everything in order. But this was so far from being the case, that it was almost the only thing which they did not think about.”
