Kane Andrews is just another one of the billions of people on Earth who watch as Richter, the world's first superhuman, goes on a rampage. With no idea of the extent or magnitude of his powers, Kane has a long way to go before becoming the first superhero. He must stay one step ahead of both Richter and the rest of the world while he figures out how to take down his nemesis. Time is running out, though, and Richter will do whatever it takes to make sure that he's Earth's only superhuman.

Couldn't finish it

It really seemed to be written by a teen. Not saying that I could read better, but the narrator was one reason I quit the book. Good premise, but jeez.

this story was awesome and exciting... all the possibilities this story has and in reading Kane growth was awesome... I look forward to the next book

loved it

I really enjoyed the overall story and we'll definitely be checking out the next one. the narrator did a great job, and I felt particularly did a good job on women's voices which I think would be super hard.

I really enjoyed this book. I want more now. always liked hero books and this had a good twist to it

A solid realistic yet classic superhero story.

While the story itself is extremely reminiscent of most classic superhero tales from the golden age, its modern take and realistic depictions of situations and scenarios that affect the main character and his supporting cast are engrossing and relatable enough to make you want to find out what happens next.
