amazing story and narration

This is a really special series. The story is so good and there are a lot of interesting perspectives.

Although the stories and details are different - it reminds me a lot of the kind of world Joe Abercrombie built in the First Law Series

Another comment said the pace was slow and boring. But I disagree. Especially if you are fully invested in these characters after the first book. The “slow moments” help set the stage and show character growth

Listened to literally hundreds of fantasy audiobooks, this was great and solid. Loved the two books hope there will be more.

Fantastic fantasy tale

Amazing continuation from the first! I was evermore immersed into the characters individual stories and decisions made. The development of the characters and story was great. The writing style and pacing felt very consistent from the first book, even when introducing new characters and new areas. Thank you again Steve for a great book and I cannot wait for the next title!
